C4 orders Naked Entertainment’s Greatest Kids’ Films
UK broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned London-based production company Naked Entertainment’s The Greatest Kids’ Films Ever Made.
This 90-minute doc will explore the untold stories behind some of the best-loved kids’ films of modern cinema and the people in front and behind the camera who helped create it. The doc includes first-hand accounts, behind-the-scenes footage, break-out moments and a selection of some of the most iconic scenes in cinema, from Mary Poppins to ET.
The Greatest Kids’ Films Ever Made (working title) has been commissioned by Jonny Rothery, commissioning editor of formats and music for Channel 4. Naked Entertainment’s Simon Andreae and Tom O’Brien will serve as executive producers with Richard Nash as producer and director.
“Whether you’re 9 or 90, kids’ movies never lose their magic. Their powerful spell brings whole families together for some of our most cherished co-viewing. This Channel 4 film hopes to show our appreciation of that, by chronicling the story of the best and brightest,” said O’Brien, director of development at Naked Entertainment, in a statement.
Production on the doc has commenced and will air later this year.
