Celebs get 5Star makeover
John McCririck and Celebrity Big Brother star Lauren Harries are among the celebrities set to receive makeovers as part of a celebrity remake of 5Star’s 100% Hotter.
The digital channel has ordered 3 x 60-minute Celebrity 100% Hotter from Simon Andreae’s Naked Entertainment.
The show, in which a team of style experts tone down the extreme looks of fashion-challenged contestants, before gauging public reactions, will feature controversial horse racing pundit McCririck and Celebrity Big Brother runner up Harries, as well as How Clean Is Your House host Kim Woodburn, Ex-On The Beach’s star Jemma Lucy, Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan and former Playboy model Chloe Khan.
The show will air on Channel 5’s sister channel in January.
It comes as the Viacom-owned network commissioned a second series of the regular 100% Hotter, after it averaged 124,000 (0.6%) across its 10-episodes, comfortably above the channel’s Wednesday 8pm slot average of 91,000 (0.4%) for the past 12 months.
Celebrity 100% Hotter was commissioned by 5Star commissioner Sebastian Cardwell, who runs the channels with Gemma Hewlett with Andreae and Matthew Cox exec producing.
Andreae said: “This is a deliciously entertaining spin-off that will see our celebrities stripped of their usually confident looks and laid bare for judgement. Some are terrified, some excited. But all want to see how they would look and feel like with a brand new wardrobe, and sometimes a brand new attitude to accompany it.”
